When is a TV show cancelled? SciFi/Fantasy fans will be familiar with US networks killing off shows without a second thought. Recent deaths of Almost Human and Revolution cutting particularly deep. So whats going on with Dracula. The Dracula TV series is new to Dubai on OSN, so apologies for coming Kate to the party. TV continues to use the Victorian period age timely. Just think Deadwood, Sanctuary and Hell on Wheels for the US. Carnival Films Dracula is Jonathan Rhys Meyer baby, and a nice offspring it has become. Full of UK acting talent giving it a gloss that prime period Hammer would have loved. Nicely incorporating Jules Verne and SciFi Victorian Steam Punk ( think of the recent film version of The Three Musketeers) meets Coppola sumptuous Dracula, with flavours of Annie Rice (and touches of Angel and Vampire Dairies when they went all Victorian) plus an element of Ripper Street (possibly newcomer Penny Dreadful also .. But I have not seen that yet). This is an imaginative reimagining (!) of a tired old story full of familiar tropes and deserves to succeed. However has it been cancelled? NBC seem to have dropped out but Rhys Meyer claims a second series is being made. More on this when I understand!! en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dracula_(TV_series)
