When it comes to agreeing with celebrities, historical figures, - TopicsExpress

When it comes to agreeing with celebrities, historical figures, and even atheist page admins, why does it seem you have to be all or nothing? Adies post about Bill Maher got me thinking about this. The quote was on point, but some of the comments were about other topics that Bill Maher gets wrong. I, personally, love Bill Maher, but I dont even come close to agreeing with everything he says. Christopher Hitchens had an amazing way with words, and we often quote him, but he wasnt perfect. Neil Degrasse Tyson, Bill Nye, David G. McAfee, or anyone else we quote here can say, and Im sure have said, things that we might not agree with 100% or even at all. Who cares? Morton, Adie, and I are different people and sometimes we say shit that might not be right up each others alleys, but we dont break away and start our own pages. Ive noticed that when we do put a somewhat controversial post up, we lose fans. We usually gain them as well and we are obviously growing so more fans are coming than going, but I just dont understand the all or nothing stance. I, for one, would rather have a conversation about what I said that you didnt like, than just have you leave because you didnt agree with one post. - Joss
