When it comes to empty gestures and fake empathy, International Pink Day certainly takes 1st Place for the imbecility and waste of time that it represents. There are people who actually think wearing pink somehow fights cancer, that it somehow does something to make the world a better place. I actually saw a person share a photo recently after performing a Cancer Walk where she stood next to a sign that said You are now a better person. Really? Youre a better person because you wore a pink shirt and walked a certain distance? What a sickening world we live, where people actually associate drawing attention to themselves as a noble and selfless act.
