When it comes to international relations sovereignty is king. It is what gives states the right to be states. But in todays world sovereignty is increasingly under pressure - from economic forces, international values and non-state actors. The 2014 Research School of Asia and the Pacific symposium, free and open to all, will put sovereignty under the spotlight - asking whether it is still appropriate or a fading force in todays world.
