When it comes to presenting ourselves, from making our first impression on our listeners to closing our presentations with impact, its all about us as individuals. Our voice, including volume, pitch and pacing, has a tremendous impact on our audience and their willingness to follow our message. Our gestures and movement about the room, our posture and facial expressions, all play a part in keeping our audience engaged. When we conduct professional presentations, many factors fall outside of our control, such as equipment breakdowns, audience attitudes, or outside interference like weather and room temperature. But there are two things we can control: the way we sound and the way we conduct ourselves in our presentations.
