When its different, you can just tell. The little things start adding up, the small changes start becoming more obvious, the excuses start to coming more frequently. And finally you realize...You cant force it to be something. You cant force Consistency, Loyalty, or even Honesty. You cant force them to keep their word, or to communicate, or to realize something special is in front of them. You cant force them to stay and fight, or to change their ways, or to use their faith to conquer their fears. It hurts falling for untapped potential...So after realizing all of this, you just get tired...Youd rather play the game because it takes to much energy to change the standard. Youd rather settle for good enough because it takes to much time to build something great. And, youd think after all the hurt weve all been through that wed be better at being good to one another. But we arent...Instead we run when its to right. We get scared when theyre to sincere. We make excuses instead of making the effort. And thats the cycle, none of us ever get anywhere. What we ask for is really simple, but we dont think we deserve it...Because to us, simple means to good to be true. We are all so use to the pain, it doesnt hurt, we cant feel it. If its not full of drama, we dont believe they care. If theres nothing to argue about, its not really love. And thats why I chose to move slow, because more than anything, I just want to get IT right, with someone who is just as tired of getting it wrong as I am. We dont need it to be perfect to make it last. All we need is effort, 100% of me and 100% of you. We will let God work out the rest!
