When many couldnt touch, lawyer Otieno Kajuang joined Dr. Willy Mutunga, Prof Kivutha Kibwana & Muhammed Nyaoga to offer newly revived SONU (Students Organisation of Nairobi University) legal support when authorities banned and suspended my executive comte. For nearly 2yrs, Senator Kajuang remained on call pro bono. He singularly filed and argued the case, our suspension injucted. 1993 we won, the first ever such victory for SONU. Himself a victim of 1979 expulsion from UoN, completing in Makerere. I recall his 1992 July words at his NHC offices: we cant allow dictatorship to derail again. Only 3weeks ago @parliament in usual pun I reminisced times past to him, eliciting trademark roaring easy contagious laughter. Wherever we met, I would greet our sonu lawyer. Public who only knew his mapambano may not know the social ease and tease reminiscent of Sen Kajuang; amiable demeanour. Fare Thee Well flamboyant Senator Otieno Kajuang. RIP. Peace.
