When my mind is left to wander and freely roam, I am often amazed at where it takes me, not held back by conformity or restraint, but akin to the wild mustang that roams the land, each step made is the beginning of a dance. I found myself today before it became busy, just looking deeper into my own thoughts; not analysing them or tearing them apart; plainly allowing them to be... The way I believe thoughts should be, when you taint them with doubt or feel the need to strip them apart, then they have become what others want you to think; no longer your own. We dont live in an ideal world, not everyone will agree with us; in truth it will only be a few out of the hundreds who choose to see it from your way. Thats okay though, because it highlights our individuality and uniqueness. I would rather stand alone and be content than stand in a crowd and feel uncomfortable. This time of year is often a time for people to reflect; after all it is the ending to yet another year and the beginning of a new one; we make promises to ourselves and others; some we keep and some we dont. We resolve to be kinder; more compassionate and understanding; I find it sad that it should take a specific time of year for us to find that resolve. This should be happening every day of the year, regardless of the holiday seasons. We should all try and be a little more patient, a little more understanding and keep a promise made. I know that my life has improved since I learnt this information, because I am not only staying true to others, but I am remaining true to myself. If I had a few pennies and someone else needed them more than without hesitation or skip of a heartbeat I would give it away, I wouldnt feel poorer for this instead I would feel richer, for having helped a fellow man/woman. Let today be the day when you look beyond the time of year and all its commercial trappings and give because you can and not because it is expected, but better still allow this art of giving to run the full stretch of next year. I am sure you will find that your life becomes richer for doing this in ways that money and material possessions cannot fill. JUST GIVE IT A TRY....
