When my two younger brothers and I were kids, our Dad would tag us - TopicsExpress

When my two younger brothers and I were kids, our Dad would tag us along when he goes to work editing films (way before he started directing). Meeting actors, directors, and producers was part of our routine. It was not unusual for my brother, Eboy Valdez Vinarao (and Edmond Vinarao as well) to be asked if he wants to be an actor or an on-camera talent. Naughty as he was then, he would decline the offers bigtime as he was painfully shy. On the night before Eboy proposed to his then girlfriend - now fiancee - Phobel Marquez Yraola, he told me that he was going to do it publicly during the live stage performance of the Filipino musical, Rak of Aegis. Although he was collaborating with the actors and the production people, I felt really edgy and anxious for him. This younger brother of mine, who had repeatedly evaded offers to be on-camera, is professing his love for a woman in public and proposing marriage to her in front of a crowd? It just escaped me! That night I tossed and turned in bed and hardly slept a wink. It turned out my worries werent necessary. At all. I am taking the liberty of sharing this proposal video of his that were shot by our youngest brother, Edmond, and sister-in-law, Penny Salazar-Vinarao, from the audience. Cliche as it may sound, this made me believe that true love still conquers all. I am proud of you, brother! And to Phobel, you know that this is a heart-felt validation of what youve been to us for a long time now: a part of the family. Love you both!
