When my youngest child, Lucas, needed to go to Therapy (Occupational and Physical) to address a psychomotor delay in his early years, I had to wait for him during his one-hour sessions with both his OT and PT. Sometimes I was inside the therapy area and joined the sessions, but as Lucas grew, he also grew more independent, and I was relegated to staying at the Waiting Area. My mind had to do something during the hour, so I started concocting stories around the people I saw who were also waiting. The stories grew and included the center workers as well. Lucas has graduated as he has overcome his psychomotor delays. He still does PT every week to address his head tilt, but this story is also a sort of Thank You to the people in the Center that have been instrumental in my sons development. Oh, and his yaya is also a bida in this story!
