When online learning truly disrupts the establishment, it will not happen in the form of dull, socially inactive university-style MOOCs. MOOCs are an easy target of ridicule, with blog posts like this one full of paranoia of learning being diminished (By a colonial movement? What is this guy smoking?) favored over discussions of the ginormous wooly mammoth in the room: learning online-especially where its headed in the mobile space-beyond the limitations of the physical classroom, beyond the limitations of the professor, and beyond the limitations of any one particular institution is inherently and paradoxically more social, dynamic, and, in a word, more HUMAN than the current model is. Is it any wonder these guys are $&*ing in their pants?
