When parents use religion as an excuse to not listen, accept and support their trans kids everything comes to a halt. We try to discuss this with these parents, break thru the thick cement wall, and often the dialogue is over too quick. We have a few kids now that are in this situation. Thank goodness they still reach out to us on their own. A couple have had their cell phones and computers taken away from them for doing so. This is tough stuff. And sometimes tragic. Tough on all of us. Dont wait until it is too late to listen and get support. ……….And then there are those parents that are very religious that simply just love their kids unconditionally………transyouthequality.org
