When somebody mistreats, misrepresents, or do you injustice, instead of taking the position to avenge or pronounce that God is going to judge them, take the position to stand between them and the judgement of Lord that has been released towards sin, to keep them covered in love and compassion prayer until they see the mercy of God towards them. And because of that compassion, they will be transformed. It is not your job to change them. But it is your job and privilege to keep them covered in prayer where they cannot see. Wouldnt it be better to not satisfy the wrong value so that we can protect, preserve and display the God value of love and compassion than to be proven we are right.... We all need someone covering our backs.. ( i am paraphrasing the insights I heard from the message of Bill Johnson) I have been having some episodes that I am haunted by the memories of the many injustices, pain and abuses. It has been a constant struggle to forgive, let go and forget. And even if I take the stand of forgiveness, often times, there is this lurking cry and desire for justice and vengeance through God especially because injustice still prevails and I cannot do anything to avenge myself. But as I was listening to a preaching of Bill Johnson, i am so humbled and I can now fully appreciate why God has allowed me to be in such complexities and vicissitudes. I do not take a stand for martyrdom, self righteousness or being victimized again but I am now taking a firmer stand to cover the backs of my perpetrators in prayer because God wants to show mercy. There is nothing about me to be glorified but what the blood of Jesus has done for each of our transgressions, and for this I pray: Father, I pray for a release of grace, a grace that empowers righteous living and compassion for we have been been fragmented by own pain and ignorance of Your love, I ask you Lord for that special attitude of the heart that keeps the person who most offend us, for what they do is out of weakness, that you help us to stand in the gap for them to keep them covered with love and compassion till they see Your mercy. I ask the release of your power through the Holy Spirit to make us whole and appropriate what the blood of Jesus has done for us. The blood of Jesus is enough and the blood of Jesus will take care of all our blind spots. Father, it is all about You and that the victory of what the blood of Jesus has done for us would be held in highest honor. AMEN.
