When someone wishes me a Merry Christmas, I am warmed by their thoughtfulness and goodwill, and with sincerity, I respond with the same to them. I am not a Christian and Christmas is not a sacred holiday for me - my sacred holiday occurs a few days beforehand. I have been greatly blessed with friends who acknowledge my sacred time and give me their well wishes, so why would I do less for them? With that said, please do not give me lectures about a war on Christmas or demean my religion in an effort to protect your own. You dont need to protect it - its a sacred time and if you follow its teachings, it will protect you. Also, please dont tell me that as the US is a Christian Nation and that somehow my spiritual practices are less than your own. In truth, this nation was mine long before Christianity reached our shores and our spiritual walks served us well then as now. I genuinely, sincerely wish my friends and relations a very Merry Christmas, and may the peace and grace of your Savior touch and enrich your lives during this holy time.
