When speaking of Bible verses in conversation in person or online, I dont say the Bible says..., and I often dont give a specific verse. Sometimes I do, but I usually just say chapters. I do this because people have a tendency to say the Bible says... and have no idea where it actually says that. On the other end, we have a tendency to rip specific verses from their context. Sometimes quoting a verse doesnt really do justice to what the Bible was actually saying. So if I tell someone 1 Corinthians 15 says..., it tends to help me refer to whole passages of truth and the person listening to go and read the full passage. Again, not always. Its good to memorize specific verses. Just gotta know where were coming from.
