When the Abbott government took over in 2013 Labor had left Australia with a renewable energy scheme that had tripled the number of renewable energy jobs since 2007 and made us one of the top four economies in the world along with the USA, China and Germany for renewable energy investment. The Abbott government’s confusion and hostility towards this important source of energy for the future has stopped all investment in it and placed the sector in great danger. Labor has been working to save the Renewable Energy Target but the government’s position will decimate the renewable energy sector.
