When the Lord told us we should go from glory unto glory, I dont - TopicsExpress

When the Lord told us we should go from glory unto glory, I dont believe He meant from BCS bowl games to Super Bowl to March Madness to Spring Training to Kentucky Derby to NBA Finals to the Stanley Cup to NASCAR to Football Season to the World Series. Nor did God intend New Years sales to Presidents Day deals to Easter specials to Income Tax bargains to 4th of July blowouts to Labor Day extravaganzas to Veterans Day values to Black Friday to Cyber Monday to Christmas shopping. Neither did the Lord mean for us to constantly be enjoying the latest from movies to video games to arcades to technologies to music to entertainments. From glory unto glory indicates we are being changed into the image of Jesus (who He is, what He is, what He stands for, etc.). If you know more about the aforementioned lists than you know about the Bible than youve probably got the wrong idea of what God intends for you. If you spend more time on the aforementioned lists than you do with spiritual activities, then youre not being transformed into the image of God but instead are being conformed to this world. Less should we traipse from theaters to stadiums to malls to amusement parks to arcades; more should we habitate from church houses to helpful causes to prayer closets to spiritual venues to religous conventions, etc. (And bring your family, too!) There is nothing inherently wrong with sports or shopping or many other secular activities, but it is a matter of prioritizing. Get with it! This world with all its sports & shopping & sensational entertainment is passing away; while the things of God will last forever. If you say, Ouch, Mark, this is too much!, imagine how you will feel on that day when you stand before the King to give an account of your time & efforts & monies. read more @ GodsBookOfPrayers
