When the angel of the LORD appeared to Gideon, he said, The LORD - TopicsExpress

When the angel of the LORD appeared to Gideon, he said, The LORD is with you, mighty warrior. But sir, Gideon replied, If the LORD is with us, why has all this happened to us? Where are all his wonders that our fathers told us about when they said, Did not the LORD bring us up out of Egypt? But now the LORD has abandoned us and put us into the hand of Midian. The LORD turned to him and said, Go in the strength you have and save Israel out of Midians hand. Am I not sending you? But Lord, Gideon asked, how can I save Israel? My clan is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my family. Judges 6:12-15 (NIV) You are No Victim! What and who defines you? Gideon like many of us defined himself by his environment and the surroundings he was born in. His clan was the weakest in Manasseh and he was the least in his family. In his mind that had sealed his fate. He belonged to the weakest and the least group and that is how he had viewed himself until an angel of the Lord visited him and declared something else. He had a victim mentality and in his mind there was nothing he could do about it, his fate was sealed or so he thought. God on the other hand had a different view. To Him Gideon was a mighty man, Gods warrior. He was the one to save Israel from Midians hand. What a contrast! Are you suffering from the victim syndrome? Many are the times I hear the statement Pastor I am a victim of that, please pray for me. Who told you that you are a victim? Unless I am mistaken, the last time I checked your creator said you are more than a conqueror (Romans 8:37) Conquerors attack and take over, they dont have pity parties and neither do they think they are the weakest and the least. Have you been saying you are a victim because of the circumstances you find yourself in? Your tune and confession need to change because Gods children are never victims. We are always more than conquerors and so we shall always be. Jesus gave us authority to trample over snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the powers of the enemy! Gideon went out and he was victorious and the same victory awaits us! Arise mighty man and woman of God, you are a warrior and your victory is guaranteed but you have to stand up and fight. Like Gideon or David you might have been born the least but in Gods eyes you are great. Your circumstances and situations should never define you. God your creator is the only one who should define you. There is a reason why He allowed you to be in that circumstance. Arise, put off the victim mentality and put on the face of a conqueror, more than a conqueror. God told Gideon to go in the power that he already had not the power that God would give him! You already have what you need to conquer. It is time to take over, do you believe it? Are you ready? In Gods eyes you are a mighty warrior and not a victim, arise, its time to take over.
