When the anniversary of this date approaches I am taken back to how that day started, who I was with, what I was doing & how the day ended very differently from the way it started. I was getting ready to meet up with my friends for breakfast when I saw live on tv the horrific scene of the first plane hitting the WTC. Not realizing the full impact of what was happening, I headed to Bowie to meet my friends for breakfast. . Listening to the radio in shock I heard the devastating news of the second plane hitting the WTC and then the Pentagon attack. I was very worried about Timmy working in DC & frantically called him but it took awhile because the cell phone lines here were jammed. Once I made it to Bowie my friends and I are were overwhelmed and then came the news of the downed plane in PA. We immediately decided to call it a day & get back home to our families. I went to school and picked up my girls & waited what seemed like forever for my hubby to arrive home. That night we sat huddled around the tv crying & grieving. The world did stop that day. At that time we lived near BWI & the silence of no airplane traffic was deafening :(. Where were you the day the world stopped turning?
