When the love of another does not complete us and fill the gaping hole in our souls, we are quick to interpret this as rejection. When the love of another falls short of alleviating our deep loneliness, we are so quick to feel unwanted, alone, and abandoned. When the love of another does not give us a lasting sense of value, we easily feel depressed, ashamed, and unlovable. Yet, the truth is there is no man or woman whos love can complete, fill, and fully satisfy. That God shaped hole, that only he can fill is a mercy message. Eternity etched upon our hearts, awakening us to our need for him, his love displayed at the cross. Only Jesus can be what we long for.
