When the only life you’ve ever lived has been on the streets, you get old before your time. When your face speaks only of neglect, you give up on ever feeling healthy. And when the only kindness shown to you is being fed by the local community, you dare not dream of ever being loved. My name is Nakok and I am only two years old. I came to the shelter from a Soi Dog mobile clinic. I was a sorry mess, with what the vets called chronic skin problems. My skin was severely infected, with pus and crusting all over my face, neck and legs. I had been suffering a long time, but the life of a street dog means there is nobody who cares. After just a few weeks at the shelter, I started to feel different. The discomfort I’d known for so long was gone, the itching had stopped, and the open and infected sores were slowly disappearing. I dared to dream I might be healed. The Emergency Response Team got me here. They made this happen and YOU can make it happen for another dog like me.
