When the so-called Founding Fathers of the U.S. (a cabal of aristocratic, powered wig-bedecked fobs) enshrined property rights (naturally, their own) above human rights, they set the stage for the degradations inherent to present day, Bankster/Corporate State rule i.e., the despotism levied by the One Percent, with its attendant vast wealth inequity and soul-defying exploitation. Among the things that has allowed the perpetuation of the state-sanctioned crime spree we experience as state capitalism…is the vast and varied apparatus of the corporate states propaganda machine (which produces the effect of a enveloping hologram); the small bribes proffered to the middle class (which have diminished as the lust for lucre has increased exponentially among the greedheads of the economic elite); and a bloated military that perpetrates the shake-down racket termed empire building. Historically, empires either decay slowly over time or collapse outright. In the case of U.S. empire, there is a strong argument to be made for each scenario. Only one thing is certain: In the U.S., the center cannot hold, for there has never been a center, only a amalgamation of legal gangsterism and bad zoning. It is astonishing that anyone -- sans privilege -- can continue to buy into the illusion that the nation is a democratic republic, devoted to the principles of protection and dissemination of sound, fair governance and human liberty. Such a believe system displays a willful ignorance bordering on the delusional. And that includes this reality-bereft conviction: that somehow, by working within the rigged from the get-go system, propitious events will come to pass that will alter the doomed trajectory of empire e.g., that entrenched, corrupt-to-the-core elites will surrender their privilege and power when confronted by popular will as expressed within U.S. electoral politics. Such sentiments are right up there, snowballs chance-wise, with that of U.F.O. cultists who believe if we sit, holding hands on hilltops, chanting positive affirmations heavenward, Space Brothers will be induced to arrive on earth and bestow intergalactic peace and harmony.
