When there is no judicial respect, the balance is tilted too far right. At that point, there can be no further recourse. One wonders if the reason for judicial respect is understood by those who hold the levers of power. We know of far too many instances where prosecutorial misconduct is not only tolerated, it is given full-throated support in the name of those who by their own standards consider themselves morally superior.
