When they used to serve real food in the cafeteria. I would pay 25 cents and it would have a really good menu! for example: meat loaf, sliced turkey or chicken, peas & carrots, mashed potatoes! (my favorite) among other good stuff and for dessert they would serve cherry cobbler, pudding, some delicious mini pecan pies...and always with milk. Today they serve the kids dehydrated something that tastes like cardboard, and some of it comes pre-packaged YUK! I work at the juvenile hall and the poor little darlins get this trash, supposedly prepared in the kitchen. I think they just reheat the frozen and canned junk and serve it to the kids. They also used to have really good food back in the 70s & 80s till they contracted the county kitchen workers for special food server agencies. I know, they should be punished them, but the food is terrible!
