When u ask Jesus to teach you to love like he does it feels like ur asking to become unselfish right? To love unconditional right? U might see this request as an amazing step to oneness with him which it is but please dont forget all things that come with it. Jesus loved like no other. not only did he become the sacrifice for our sins but there was more. Jesus loved all sinners and in fact would eat with them, would he partake of the sin? No, he spoke truth and then gave them a choice to repent and change their old ways. Even when they chose not to change he still died for them, or did he say father Except those who chose not to change. No! Judas who betrayed him he knew since the start that he would betray him did that stop him from letting him be a part of his disciples? No! Being beaten and spit on and mocked and knowing they were going to take his life, what were the words to his father? Luke 23:34 Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots. If you really want to love like he does expect betrayal, expect rejection, expect suffering. Now ask yourself again can I love like he loves? Truth is no one can love like he does but we can come close as we let him take over our lives and flesh. I pray that u become aware of what it takes to love like he does but believe that there is always a chance to reflect his love to others. We are always growing and as a disciple as a follower as a believer there is always more room to learn, apply and love more than yesterday.
