When we inquired about renting a table at this years VeggieFest in suburban Chicago (which claims to be one of the largest in N.A.), we were told to send a link to our website, which we did. Then shortly thereafter we got a cryptic email message back from the organizers, telling us that they cant take our $450 to rent the table because we had been declined based on an evaluation of the freefromharm.org website. When we inquired about what criteria disqualified Free from Harm, we were told it was a management decision. That forces us to read between the lines and assume that no animal groups are welcome at their festival celebrating all things veggie. There might as well be a sign posted somewhere that says No animal groups allowed.
