When we know, truly know that something that we are doing or think - TopicsExpress

When we know, truly know that something that we are doing or think we are thinking is not pleasing to The Lord, what do we do? It is no longer good enough to say that the LORD understands because we are after all just humans. Before Jesus died on the cross, and rose again, that that excuse worked for a while, particularly with the people who believed in the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. They could hope in the blood of the sacrifice that provided for the temporary covering for their sins until the next season and sacrifice. And with that they had to wait if the priest to perform the sacrifice. The apostle says this for them of the Old Testament and to those of us of the New Testament: 24 God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands; 25 Neither is worshipped with mens hands, as though he needed any thing, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things; 26 And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation; 27 That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us: 28 For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring. 29 Forasmuch then as we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Godhead is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and mans device. 30 And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent: Acts 17: 22-30! The primary point is in verse 30- “And the times of the ignorance God winked at,….” God allowed, because of the weakness of the flesh and blindness of heart. But now that the word is dwelling in our hearts by faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, simply acknowledging or sin and repenting of the sin or wrong we have done place us in a state of forgiveness and with that reality, we can move onward in God as the new creature that we are. It is not the person that sin commits a sin that is the true issue and problem for those of us who make up the Church, and indeed at the Church. But it is the Christian, who will not confess their sins when the Holy Spirit tries to convict us of it. And it is the sinner or human who are dead in their trespasses and sins, those who refuse to accept the price that God has set for the forgiveness of sins and restoration back to that which God originally created us, humans to be, they are a problem to the church and even all creation. In the midst of all of this, God has a plan and a program for humans, time, eternity, even all creation; and God has a plan for you and me. God is saying to the Church , each member of us, come together for I things that I want to tell you things that are vital to my plan and purpose; there are things that everyone can hear, though they hear it, they cannot hear it. I will speak to you and you will hear.
