When we started this crazy venture is was simply a dream. Both Jim and I knew we were making a commitment to hard work, all of the animals living in our barns, the land and our three beautiful girls. It has been a commitment to some pretty hard years. Years of hard work we were willing to take to be with our children every day! We built our new barn in 2008 and just a few months later the milk price crashed in 2009 and it was honestly a struggle to overcome this. Our kids worked side by side with us to build the farm into what it is today. Im sure there were days they would rather of done a million different things. There have been a few days when we have questioned what we were thinking but also days that couldnt be any better. The I can tell you after sitting down with Harley and the guidance counselor today to make college plans this commitment and hard work came together. Listening to your daughter say she wants to follow in your footsteps: to raise a family the same way she was raised makes all of the sweat equity, tears from stress and tears of joy, sleepless nights and many days of simply just being over tired worth every second of it. Im excited to see where her passion and drive for this industry takes her!
