When we think of justice we may think of a woman, blindfolded, - TopicsExpress

When we think of justice we may think of a woman, blindfolded, holding a set of scales. Justice is a balance where everything is at rest. Amos pictures something entirely different. Justice is surging, churning, cleansing river. Everything is in motion and commotion. Nothing is at rest. Justice is God’s people acting as advocates for the powerless. God’s people expend their imagination and energy working to remove the discrimination built into economic systems, finding new and more effective ways to take up the cause of the overlooked, so justice flows like a steam and righteousness like a river that never runs dry.
