When will it ever be enough!! We have compromised over and over. HB105 is on its 7th Substitute with a fiscal note, a constitutional note and 2 amendments. NOW, Sen. Valentine has submitted an 8TH SUBSTITUTE with even more demands. We need a big email push to the Senate! PLEASE take a moment to write to your senator right now. You can find your senator with this map tool: le.utah.gov/GIS/findDistrict.jsp In the subject line, be sure to state that you are a constituent. This is super important! Ask them to Please vote YES for HB105, but vote NO for Substitute 8. Then tell them why this is important to you. For your information, Substitute 8 makes the following changes: 1. Waiver must be renewed every 6 months instead of every year. This means two neuro visits and recommendations per year, as well as two $400 fees for the waiver. It often takes 6 months to even get in to see a neuro, and $800 per year on top of the cost of the extract is a huge burden to our families. 2. All childrens records submitted and kept on file at the Health Department are available to any police officer upon request. It is not okay for our families to have their childs personal information and medical records available to any police officer who asks for them. 3. The full program expires (has a sunset date) of one year instead of the two years currently listed. This means that at the end of one year, the bill is automatically repealed unless the legislature receives a positive report and votes to continue. Many of our children will not receive the extract until Fall, and then they will need a few months to find the right dose. One year is too short of a period of time for the families and the researchers to really see the results of the treatment. Thank you for your help! Please SHARE!!!!
