When you are searching for a home you need to understand there are different levels of fixer uppers 1. Paint and Carpet---These are easy fixes and often can be done in a day or two. 2. Updates--Everything works and you could live there, but it would be nice if the kitchen/bathroom/living room had.... 3. You need to be handy to live there. The house is livable but has not been taken care of. You will need to adjust faucets, replace toilets, fix fences, replace a window or three. 4. A contractor license would be helpful. (Or a large pile of CASH) This home will probably come for a great deal, but only if you really have the knowledge and expertise to fix all of the items. Generally these homes are uninhabitable. When asking for a fixer make sure you specify your expertise to your agent.
