When you have built your life on principles, one thing is evident; you live by ethical standards. Ethics are a combination of principles, values and moral standards. So in developing the right ethics; you need to have values that you hold in high esteem, principles that guide your operations and moral standards that you are known for.A young slave was seduced by the wife of his master. His master had given him the responsibility of overseeing his household and everything belonging to him except his wife. She used every opportunity she had to persuade him until she made a trap for him. Eventually he had to run away from the house and in the process he left his robe in her hands because she had held on to it while trying to lure him into sleeping with her. He could have chosen to have an affair with her and keep it secret, but he chose not to. Rather he chose to value his master and the responsibility he had entrusted into his care even though he was a slave. He chose to remain morally upright even when other people would have advised or done otherwise. He understood that broken principles always have costly repercussions. He lived a life of ethical standard. You too can do the same. Have you ever had to face such temptations or similar ones? How did you handle it?
