When you have kids and hear crying upstairs, its easy to know if its real. How do you know whether or not to address it? Give it a second. If someone rushes down, while crying, to tattle, its fake. Just trying to get a sibling in trouble. Conversely, if all you can hear are muffled sobs and a sibling whispering and shushing, something is wrong and someone is hurt. Youll have to go up and ask questions, but there will be a Watergate-like cover-up. The best part is that they dont know how I can tell! Its not because Im a good detective... Its because my brothers and I did the same thing! The only easy part of parenting is remembering the crap you tried to pull on your own parents.
