When you make excuses for your political heroes you lose credibility, and youre contributing to the one-dimensional stupidity of American Politics. When someone does something wrong, they did something wrong and deserve - MUST - be called out for it. When someone does their job they deserve mild acknowledgement. When someone does something amazing they should be praised wildly. And there are all kinds of points on the spectrum of human behavior and complexity and possibility. Doing something good does not mean this person is good no matter what else they might do. Doing something bad doesnt fix a person in a festering pit of condemnation. Making excuses for your favorite politicians - Obama, Reagan, Clinton, Hagan, whoever - dehumanizes them in addition to the cowardice it reflects on you. Shame on you. But hey, keep your sacred cows - things around the country sure are GREAT.
