When you see lots and lots of ads on TV or sent to you in the mail for or against a proposition or a candidate, we should all realize that it is usually big money interests are behind these usually reasonably sounding propaganda spots and leaflets. It seems again it is so easy to fool the American electorate. Polls show that many of the candidates and good propositions are now behind after this advertising blitz. Here is one good example. We should all be for CA Prop 45, the health insurance companies (like they did to the auto insurance companies some years ago - and yes the rates went down) would have to justify any increases before the Insurance Commission. Right now NO state agency can stop any rate increase. The health insurance companies are spending $37 million so they can keep charging excessive rates (not on your health care and where do you think they get this money to use against you? Right!
