When you try to make the petty people in your life love you and cede to their demands, you will most likely win none of them. Those friends and family who truly know and choose to love you wont constantly criticize or make you work hard for their approval. Those offended because of your real or imagined, shortcomings, will always need to correct you, try to humiliate you. Your true friends are few, regardless how deeply or passionately you love. Of course, I hope that you like me and that youre my friend, but I put my hope and faith in God alone. Men may fail us in our hour of suffering, but the Bible tells us that Jesus is a friend who sticks closer than a brother. Because He has forgiven me much, I love Him so very much.
