When you walk down the street do you make eye contact with the people you pass by? Why ? Why not ? What does it mean to you? What do you think it means to them? In our little town that is now burgeoning with people from big cities and from all over the world really the mood has changed. I posit that the simple change of looking your neighbor in the eye can help with not only the mood change, but help keep people honest too. We have a huge number of people in Grants Pass that are suffering from one thing or the other and are left sitting on the street. A simple smile and "Hi" could be the difference in their day. To just acknowledge their existence is paramount to bringing our community together. Do me a favor and try it. Next time you are out and about. Smile and say hello to every stranger you see. Just try it out for a while.
