Whenever I drive to my second office from my Benton Harbor office, I pass through a small town. Today on my way back I again noticed the somewhat festive holiday decor the town religiously puts on display each year. I began to say to myself, once again, how badly they need to replace this decor with something a little less ..... worn. Then I saw it.....my eyes began to burn, I glance away and I saw another...... the site was so egregious that I feel compelled to make the following suggestion. Town Holiday Decor Rule #429: It is NEVER ok to mix holidays when decorating for the season. A scarecrow Santa or Werewolf is an abomination to the eyes, our good sense and frankly offensive to Werewolfs everywhere and to Santa himself. We do not tell stories of the Headless Easter Bunny or of blood sucking reindeer..... this is not natural. When choosing holiday decor to display through your town, pick one holiday and stick to it. Thank you.
