Where are you clothes made??? After watching the story of made in China clothing on 3rd Degree last night, I have had alot of customers asking where Augustine is made. So here it is. I am very proud of the way Augustine is made in China. We dont use large factories. We dont use sweatshops and all our workers are well paid. Augustine is all made in our own office in China. We have a small team of very talented people that help us source fabrics, make the patterns and sew the garments. In terms of the Chinese market, Augustine is a very small operation which allows us to make everything in house. We pay our staff very well and our 2 managers in China have earned great money from Augustine and own their own cars and newly built apartments. The conditions in our office are no different to NZ, with air con and regular breaks. Due to the fact we dont use large factories we dont sell our product at $59 or less like ASOS or Boohoo do. But I challenge them to show photos of their factories. Sweatshops do exist, bad work practice exists. Slave labour exists. But not with us. There is a nice side to china and we are more than happy to show all 15,000 followers on facebook photos of it. And yes we are Made in China. But we are made with morals and the same values we treat our kiwi staff with. So do check where your clothes come from. Ask the store. Buy local!!!
