Where bike agility comes from Part 1 of 5 part series. Not a lot - TopicsExpress

Where bike agility comes from Part 1 of 5 part series. Not a lot of Bike manufacturers talk about agility & why it’s an important aspect of how a bike functions on the trail…so here we go …if a bike is built to be agile it will be able to better maintain its equilibrium/balance on an off camber trail, it will take less effort to keep in balance when landing the gnar drop, it will stay in balance when speed is increased, & be able to overcome resistance (i.e. steep climbs) easier, & finally, agility requires all aspects of the bike to work in unison. Think of an elite athlete who is agile, their legs work with their arms that works with their torso, their core, their center of gravity-all the muscles make the athlete agile not just their legs. The next few FB subjects will address how DBC focuses on building bike agility. Reflecting on my old down hilling days, I can’t say my bikes of the past were very agile…I had to work ridiculously hard make the bike agile through my movements as a rider…I lost time and function on the trail through wasted energy & efficiency. durangobikecompany
