Where can you afford to live? Partnership for Strong Communities released this game called Rent Roulette. We played it at our last meeting and lost a few times before we got lucky (a dental hygienist in New London county). In one scenario we were an elderly single woman who is a transit bus driver and wanted to live in New Haven (the cheapest of the cities we were offered). She makes $2006/month which gives her a housing budget of $602/month. Even the most inexpensive place, a studio, was out of her budget as it would cost $1385/month, and thats not including necessities like electricity, washer/dryer, or heating, let alone parking or air conditioning.
