Where do I start??? Yesterdays Open Day was amazing in every respect. We couldnt have wished for better weather, everyone worked so hard before and during the day to make it a success and it certainly was that :) Thank you to: Our hardworking staff and volunteers - we couldnt have done it without you all, All our supporters and members of the public who attended, The stallholders (food, crafts etc) and all the fantastic charities (I hope you all made lots of money and spread the word), Our speakers Richard Symonds, Hugh Warwick, Tony Nevin and the brilliant Dominic Dyer, Ellie Harrison for performing the official opening, Drew Pratten for doing a great job as announcer on the stage, Arts Frenzy for putting together the dance routine with our 3 mascots, Paws For Thought dog display team and the Abbots Flyball team, Cotswold Falconry Centre, Gloucestershire & Worcestershire 4x4 Response for doing a fantastic job of parking everyone (and helping a few vehicles out of the mud), Everyone who donated raffle prizes, goods for selling, cakes and tombola prizes especially Val Briggs for the watercolour and Steve and Jan for the holidays, Natalie Gould for her brilliant (and brave), emotional speech at the end of the day and for the beautiful flowers, And last, but certainly not least, the fantastic hard work done by Billy, the main organiser of the day - the event wouldnt have come together or been such a massive success without you :) If I have forgotten anyone, please accept my apologies. I will let you all know a total for the day as soon as I know it and there will be plenty of videos and photos to come. It was an emotional day for me, but I certainly couldnt have wished for a better 30th Anniversary celebration, and although I dont know if I will be around to see it, I hope that Vale Wildlife Hospital is still going strong in another 30 years :) Thank you everyone xxx
