Where to begin?! Sit down and get comfy, folks, because this is going to be a long one! For all the stress and insanity in the last few months leading up to this recent Flight Of The Valkyries festival, I honestly could not have imagined Saturday night being any better. I got to spend the day with some of my favorite bands and best friends! It was honestly one of the best days of my life! And now for the thanks ... First of all I want to say thank you to the Metro Gallery and Adam Savage for giving our festival the opportunity for a great new home in Baltimore. The staff at Metro Gallery was absolutely phenomenal and true professionals. Special thanks to our awesome sound man Rob Girardi, Matty our door guy, and all the bar tenders who kept our glasses full! A super HUGE thanks to my girl Rachel Taft and Feed The Scene for housing me this week, being a great listener/counselor to all my promoter woes, and especially for feeding all our bands with a delicious hot meal on the day of the show! Thanks to Nick Saulsbury my stage manager who made sure all the changeovers went smoothly and helped keep us on schedule, and for being such an incredibly supportive friend through all 8 years, 6 festivals, and 2 states of FotV. Big thanks to Ray C Sutliff and Chris McClure who stepped up as my runners and merch man on the day of the show. Thanks to Dan Petruccelli and Pizza Party Printing for printing our awesome t-shirts on such short notice. (For those who wanted, but did not get a shirt, I will be doing a second run of these. More info coming on that a little later.) Thanks to Noel Conrad at NoveltyHaus for once again making our festival buttons! HUGE THANKS to all the fans who came out to show their support and give FotV the best welcome back that I could imagine! MASSIVE THANK YOU to all the bands - Spellborne, Echoes Never Lie, Sekengard, MindMaze, and A Sound of Thunder - who each brought their A-game and put on absolutely amazing performances, all of them ranking among the best I have ever seen from their respective bands. Special thanks go out to my beloved pirates in Sekengard (Sarah Stepanik, Evan Phillips, Daniel James Paytas, Jøn Røbey, Adam Scalici and Carter Cassedy) who have warmed my heart, damaged my liver, and allowed me to invade their practices for the last several weeks when I so desperately needed a friendly place to escape all the chaos in my life. Finally special thanks to my metal sister Nina Osegueda from A Sound of Thunder who kicked my ass into high gear this past fall and helped convince me that now was the perfect time to bring Flight of the Valkyries out of hibernation. To all the FotV family near and far, thank you for your posts, likes, comments, shares and various forms of support to help promote and keep this festival alive! We are back and better than ever!
