Wheres the Party on Mondays? Horse Shoes @ South Side Jillz I usually write off Mondays as nothins happenin. Jill Mitchell - pool shark, fashion icon, all around bon vivant AND owner of South Side Jillz Bar - tells me she was pleasantly surprised by the turn out when she decided to throw open the doors for horse shoes to start everyones week. Here it is, the warmth of an early January Mexican sun helping set the vibe for about 30 fun seekers. Mondays are as good a day as any to have a good time. Jills dog claims a sunny sleeping spot right in the middle of it all, while a group heads indoors to enjoy one of the bars trade mark blue felt pool tables. Clunk as another shoe lands in the sand. The Allman Brothers Ramblin Man plays in the background. Weather throwing horse shoes or just enjoying the good company, the big patio at Jillz is full of people who have found the best of a Rocky Point Winter afternoon. Every Monday starting at 1:00pm. Southside Jillz Bar is at the top of Calle 13 where the street curves past Hotel Peñasco del Sol near Maxs.
