Whether intentional or not the anti-cop movement is spinning out of control and my fear is that it will end in yet another tragedy if the leaders of our city dont strike a more appropriate balance. I get that people are not happy with a GJ decision and peaceful displays of that are appropriate, but this is the legal process we live under. If you dont like it, work to change it in the NYS legislature. Better and additional training is always a good idea and I applaud the PC for doing so. Cops are not infallible and perform a difficult and dangerous job all in an effort to keep our families safe. More community policing is something I support in order to enhance the trust and respect for the different communities of NYC and the NYPD. Of course you need more cops for that as I have been saying for almost a year and the Mayor and PC disagreed with. So lets revisit that as well. In all neighborhoods the NYPD need to be respected and welcomed for the role they play in reducing crime and fighting the real bad guys in this city. We dont have a police killing innocent ppl epidemic, we have a tragedy and we need to advance reforms from and ensure good can come out of this terrible event. In the end of the day we all love our city and always want it to be better tomorrow than it was yesterday.
