Whether you are happy or sad about yesterdays USA elections, you certainly do not have to hang your head over the disgrace of Czech politics. You may recall when our former president was caught on live television stealing a pen at a news conference. Well this tops even that. The Czech language is extremely polite. Often Czechs are put off by Americans (and Brits) casually using profanity. Not only did Zeman use the two inexcusable swear words as detailed in this article, but the literal translation of a womans body part would make even the most tarnished sailor blush. What is the Czech government doing? They have begun a high level investigation into how Czech Public Radio let the obscene words get on the air. They want to know what precautions Czech Radio took for this live interview. Duh! Are they saying a live interview with the president of you country should be put on a 10 second tape delay because of fears of gutter language? If you watch the tape, the man standing next to our president is the former Prime Minister. He stepped down only six weeks after his appointment because of bribery allegations. Furthermore, his mistress and former Chief of Staff had spied on his wife using government resources. His wife was reportedly part of a Christian sect. Today the presidents office said he would apologize for this language. Early polls show his popularity has actually gone up a bit. Please, please pray for the Czech Republic, the most atheistic nation in Europe.
