While I may be considered extreme because I dont teach my children some man in a red suit is going to bring them gifts, I have told them that Saint Nicholas was a real man who lived and died a long time ago. He followed the guidance of the Lord and gave to others. I dont want them to see Christmas as the time of year they think about everything Santa is going to bring them Christmas Eve hoping they were good enough this year to get that really nice gift.... I want them to see this time of year as a time to think about what they can GIVE to others and how they can show the love of God. Our Lord gave us the greatest gift of all.... Not because he had his list and checked it twice... We are flawed and we are ALL on the naughty list lol.... He gave for us when we didnt deserve it... And I wont let that gift be over shadowed by some man coming down the chimney. This is the story of Santa Clause my kids know and they are fine with that. Yes they like to pretend hes real( in the sense of the myth of today) much like spiderman and superman and I dont spend time trying to convince them, but when they ask I am honest. I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas season.
