While I try to make it a habit to make but one contribution a day - TopicsExpress

While I try to make it a habit to make but one contribution a day to my Facebook Wall through my Thought for today, occasionally I find myself breaching this self-imposed discipline. Today is one such time. The purpose of this post is simply one of respect; to inform all of my friends and contacts of certain things that have been revealed to others over the past six months and not them; things which would be disrespectful to leave them in ignorance of. This past year has been a very busy one for me and Sheila and there were a few months during it when I was being checked out simultaneously by four specialists at four different hospitals for four different types of cancer ( Blood, bone, skin and throat). Fortunately, I finished up with just one; cancer of the blood. Six months ago after experiencing a bout of Shingles, my blood tests revealed that I had the condition of Chronic Lymphatic Leukeamia (CLL). I had seemingly contracted CLL some time earlier and its immediate effect upon the body is a significant weakening of ones immune system, caused by the high level of white blood count. The illness is terminal and the only uncertainty is when and not if. I inform you openly of this today as I have always tried to be truthful in my dealings and responses to people, and deliberately failing to disclose I find too deceitful to carry on with long term. Here is the important part of this message. Had anyone told me in my childhood that my 70th year of life would be the happiest year I have ever known, I would never have believed them. Yet, I swear to you it has been so ever since I married Sheila on my 70th birthday in Haworth on November 10th, 2012. I assure all of you that my initial shock after first receiving the news of CLL has passed and that my life is as full and as meaningful every morning that I wake up as it has always been. My final message today is when the medical chips seem to be down and have fallen away from one, place not your trust and faith in any other than your God, your friends, your family and your partner, as they are the people who really matters in this world. Love Bill xxx
