While I understand some personal censorship for children done by the parent, sometimes I think we overreact. A lot of movies that kids arent allowed to watch I grew up on. And all of my challenges in life had nothing to do with those movies. Theyre entertainment, they are well written, or at least well enough to spark debates, but nothing more. At the age of five I was already struck by an event that would carry on throughout my life. So movies had no power in corrupting me. Maybe I have a super brain and I can somehow see movies as an art medium rather than an excuse to be a stupid? Right, me, a guy who has worked fast food since 1999. SMH. I am far from the brightest Crayon in the box, if I can figure something out, most of us already have, or at least most of us will too. I am a layman who is always working towards improvement. Folks need to think about how they handle things. They need help their children to understand how the world works a piece at a time, to the best of their abilities. And always make it exciting, as if growing up is an adventure. It feeds imagination along with the education.
