While I was driving today to get a flat tire fixed, I heard the most dreadful song on the radio. I dont know the name of it, but from what I could tell it was a boy band of some sort. The lyrics were: I kissed a girl; and I liked it--the taste of her cherry chapstick. It seems to me that the song does not realize it is wrong in its insistence on the boys, presumable, first kiss (is it some conservative number about a gay boy liking hetero stuff?!?) having to do with a girl. That is, the chapstick seems to be the key to the enjoyment thus displacing the girls presence entirely. This began to bother me the more this seemingly never-ending song played. Who writes shit like this? Now I have this awful song stuck in my head. But, on the other hand, at least it displaced my annoyance from the flat tire to a more appropriate object.
